Lagorio Farming Inc.
The
late George Lagorio founded George B. Lagorio Farms along with Ace
Tomato, in 1932. He learned the early farming techniques from his
father, an immigrant from Italy who farmed a few acres near
Stockton. The fertile San Joaquin Valley provided an excellent place
for George to get his start in the agriculture business. From the
first small family farm of a few acres, the Lagorios now farm or
control over 6,000 acres in and around Stockton, California.
Throughout the 60+ years of George Lagorio's farming, he grew and produced many crops, many of which Lagorio Farms still produces today. Among them are: alfalfa, almonds, apples, asparagus, beans, tomatoes, cherries, corn , cucumbers, grapes, nectarines, onions, peppers, plums, sugar beets, walnuts and wheat.
George Lagorio was a pioneer in bringing many of these crops to the San Joaquin Valley. He was a mentor to many young farmers who sought his advice and knowledge. Lagorio Farms is proud to continue in the same tradition.
